About This Project

Clinica Esperanza is a clinic on the Island of Roatan, Honduras that helps the poor and underserved receive the best possible medical care and no one is turned away for lack of ability to pay.

Early on, it was discovered that many times when a patient seeks medical care elsewhere, they have an additional cost to purchase their medications. This is a great burden for the poor who must then decide between their needed medications or food for their families. Often times, a family will go hungry in order to provide medications for their children or a family member doesn’t get their needed medications in order to provide food for their family. From the beginning, Clinica Esperanza has provided medications to the best of our ability.

During the past several years, this has been especially difficult as many Islanders depend on tourism for their livelihood and have been out of work due to the pandemic.

How You Can Help

We need your help to continue to provide the medications needed for our patients. If you are visiting Roatan in the future, please consider bringing some over-the-counter medications in your suitcase such as Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen or Aspirin 81mg, to name a few. Or consider helping us by donating funds to provide much needed diabetic, hypertensive and antibiotic medications. Either type of support would be extremely appreciated!
