Here in Canada our society has become so insular, we rarely step out of our comfort zones or fully engage with people and communities outside of our bubbles , whether its Church denominations, ministries, religions, ethnic groups, ages, etc. The opposite of unity is taking place and division is rampant. Mental health issues, drug abuse, overdose and suicide are everywhere. So many are searching for more and most won’t walk into a church building. Others are leaving churches because they can’t find what they are looking for there either. There is a hunger for a tangible experience with Jesus that no program, drug or person can satisfy. Until people have a true encounter with Him and finally understand He truly is real, fully engaged and active in our lives today, they will continue leaving churches, and trying other ways to find fulfillment which always ends up leaving them with an even deeper void. Canada has become a Mission Field of its own, and many countries now view it as a closed country . Openly sharing your faith is now being blocked in many cities. Just this year Chaplains have been told that they cannot use the word God in their prayers or when speaking at Remembrance Day Ceremonies. Countries around the world are now sending Missionaries here, from India, Africa, the U.S.A., and more. Our Nation needs Jesus more than ever.
Over the past few years BURN Canada has been bringing together leaders from many different ministries and churches in cities across Canada. Cross-pollinating, building bridges, championing and supporting local churches and ministries. All while ministering both inside and outside of churches, bringing teams into communities to minister to people who would typically not even enter a church building. We have leaders from Mennonite to Pentecostal, and everything in-between, coming and working together. This has been building beautiful relationships and strengthening communities. At many of our outdoor Worship/Outreach events, people ask what church we are with and every person is shocked to hear that each of us are from different churches and ministries. We pursue being a living example of the John 17 church that Jesus prayed for. Not only are we bringing together multiple ministries, but also ages and ethnicities. Our oldest volunteers are in their 70’s and 80’s right down to our children who are toddlers, all ages are welcome and actively involved. We have teams from Nigerian Ministries, Persian Ministries, Messianic Jewish Ministries, Hispanic Ministries, First Nations Ministries, Healing Rooms, YWAM, House of Prayer, Intercession Ministries, et c., all being involved. We have found that Worship and the pursuit of Jesus’ heart is such a beautiful common ground to bring so many together. We have had many people give their hearts to the Lord through this. Mentoring and Discipling leaders in cities across Canada is key to moving forward. We are growing rapidly and are in great demand to come to so many cities it is impossible to be everywhere at once. Those that catch the heart and vision of what we do, we bring alongside us and begin training. We mentor and help them establish BURN Furnaces in their regions and cities and give encouragement and support to help them build bridges with local churches and ministries in their area. We are always come in to serve and come alongside ministries offering opportunity to collaborate and link arms. Everywhere we go we are invited back.
This has now become a full-time endeavor as we are growing and expanding rapidly. We want to see Burn Furnaces in every City, Town, Province and Territory, mentoring and encouraging leaders and building bridges in their communities. Your support will enable us to lead, train and organize teams across Canada to lead Worship and Evangelism/Discipleship teams, supporting ministries with outdoor and indoor worship/outreach events and creating space for believers and non-believers to come, regardless of denomination, to spend time in extended worship together.
