#GivingTuesday Overview
Help us Bring Surgery, Training & Hope to Madagascar
Our vision is to share the love of Christ through quality, affordable, and compassionate surgical care while educating a new generation of African surgeons. Along with my wife and 3 children, we will be moving to the island of Madagascar. Here, we will provide surgical care while working towards the goal of bringing a surgical residency training program to the Good News Hospital.
Madagascar
An island off the south of Africa, Madagascar is consistently one of the 10 poorest countries in the world. There are 27 million people who make the island home, 87% of whom live with no electricity and 75% live on less than $2 per day. Access to surgical care is extremely limited and qualified surgical workers are few, especially in rural regions.
Help Us Reach Our Goal
Urgent Needs
My family and I are mobilized and ready to return to Africa at the end of 2020, but we need your help. Your one-time or monthly investments of $25, $50 or $100 will directly enable us to bring surgical care and training to the Good News Hospital in Madagascar.
Our Ministry
Thiessens2Africa continues to provide hope and surgery in Africa by providing compassionate, quality and affordable surgery to the poorest regions of the world. Over 5 billion people in the world do not have access to safe surgery.
Dr. Jeshiah Thiessen is a Canadian trained general surgeon working to support the people of Northern Madagascar through surgical care and the hope of the gospel.
