Restore Mission International Blog – Nov 16, 2022

West Africa continues to witness record levels of conflicts resulting in forced internal displacements, predominantly due to violent ethnoreligious attacks from extremist forces, amongst other things. This has left several millions living in devastating poverty and vulnerable conditions, and now living across several Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, especially in the biggest West African nation, Nigeria. Since 2013, Benue State in Nigeria, a Christian majority state, has witnessed incessant attacks from armed Fulani bandits, an extreme Islamic ethnic group. These invasions have resulted in the massacre of thousands of people, destruction of communities, and often, total obliteration [...]

Misión Hispana Blog – Nov 9, 2022

Misión Hispana is located in Puerto San Jose, Guatemala. Paul and Thania Heier originally started their journey on the mission field 17 years ago in Nicaragua, and the Church they started there is still active today. Their vision is to see people in Guatemala and beyond experience a radical life change in the name of Jesus, and to provide a community for them that is encouraging, supportive, and loving. This past season has been particularly challenging as they have been affected by severe weather in both their Guatemalan community and their U.S. community. From [...]

Dan & Carlina Courteau Blog – Nov 2, 2022

Hello, we are Dan & Carlina Courteau. We serve as full-time suburban missionaries in the city of Ottawa, Canada. We have been involved with The Great Commission Foundation since 2021. We appreciate the encouragement, support, accountability, and credibility that GCF provides. We practice a missional way of living. Our goal is to simply follow God into the neighbourhood from one day to the next. This means that ministry is often unpredictable, yet exciting and fulfilling. We search out opportunities to promote and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ through our works and our words [...]

Imuhira Heza Blog – Oct 25, 2022

"Imuhira Heza, Kirundi for “Home of Majesty," is a home for 13 orphaned children, who are cared for by 2 widows, so they may live the lives God created them for. In the home, they are provided for, but also educated and encouraged to realize their identity as beloved and saved children of God through the salvation found in His Son, Jesus. The home was founded by Boneko Bonaventure, who grew up as an orphan with his widowed mother; his father was killed before he was even born. Boneko now manages the home in Bujumbura, Burundi, [...]

PiFò Haiti Blog – Oct 19, 2022

Life of the “Moun Mitan” Missionary and Straddling Two Worlds We probably all know missionaries who have spent years, if not lifetimes, integrating themselves into a foreign country. They spend lots of time, sometimes years, raising funds, and once in-country, they undergo language training and cultural classes. Then there are the STMs (short-term mission) participants. The STMs usually spend a week in a developing country helping in-country missionaries with projects and experiencing a life-altering awareness of how people in “poor” countries live. Sometimes their work is valuable and gives the missionaries respite and much-needed [...]

Christian Camping Blog – Oct 12, 2022

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022 we have been coordinating evacuation efforts carried out by Christian camps and providing financial assistance to Christian camps and conference centers in Ukraine to help the camps that host refugees cover utility bills, purchase bed linen, washing machines, laundry detergent, fuel and food. We have also been sponsoring children and youth to attend Christian camps by providing camper sponsorship funds directly to camps and depending on the camps to select the eligible campers. In the summer of 2022, 217 camps that are part of [...]

Amazing Grace Missions Blog – Oct 5, 2022

During the pandemic we faced many difficult challenges. God protected the congregation by keeping them safe from getting Covid-19. We prayed for Psalm 91 and continued the church services outdoors following safety protocols. Throughout this challenge, we were able to help those who lost their jobs by providing financial support towards rent and utilities. Amazing Grace Missions kept the faith and God provided. The pandemic has brought the congregation closer; through God, the congregation at AGM is more united, demonstrating love to one another. Amazing Grace Missions is currently fundraising for emergency home [...]

Crossing Cultures International Blog – Sep 28, 2022

According to the respected Lausanne Movement’s Covenant, the equipping of pastors is the greatest need in the church today. “More than 3.2 million pastoral leaders presently minister, while ‘only 5% are trained for pastoral ministry," according to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity. Thus, more than 3 million pastoral leaders need immediate strengthening. Imagine if your pastor did not know what the Bible taught on various topics? Conversely, the Church worldwide is in dire straits without equipped shepherds. While training pastors in India, many of them told me that many pastors in [...]
