Save Generation Development Association, (SGDA) has been working for the last 15 years since its formation in 2008. They work on different projects, primarily focusing on Women and Children, influencing them to lead their lives through faith. They are introduced to the word of God by teaching them about the exemplary life and teaching of the Lord, Jesus Christ. SGDA has 204 children at three operation areas in Ethiopia: Wonji Kuriftu, Bishoftu and Negele. The Great Commission Foundation, as our sponsorship partner, has taken on this mission to reach our beneficiaries through this project. 102 children in the town of Bishoftu alone are supported through monthly food, school materials and medical provisions. The program supports them by giving them and their guardians monthly groceries. At the beginning of each school year, school materials are prepared for each child. This includes school uniforms and bags which are highly costly to afford and purchase on their own. During Christmas holidays, the program supplies them with casual clothes and opportunities to share good times and the love of the Lord with peers.

Through regular counseling sessions, and attending Sunday classes, children are learning meaningful lifetime lessons on how to become productive citizens, how to create deep spiritual connections with others, and how to view their lives as a gift that is given by the Lord, Jesus Christ.

SGDA helps the families of vulnerable orphan children understand God’s destiny for their lives, and His faithful promises to save us from our hardships.

We offer mentoring to OVCs, teaching them how to be disciples of God, following His path for their life and allowing the Holy Bible to guide them.

A challenge that we have faced and overcome is the challenge to provide salaries for staff and providing the necessary administration costs. Though, through these difficult times, God has showed us his hand and has shown us miracles that we did not anticipate. Now, every staff member has a salary. In addition, as the economy is going through internal conflicts, costs have gone up, and this has placed challenges on families. However, God continues to help through these times of struggle.

Currently, we are in an ongoing search for financial support and prayer to help provide school materials for children in the upcoming school year. Our country, our children, and our ministry could also use your continued prayer as we are faced with challenges and difficulties.
