In December of 2019, Randy & Jacquelyn Maas responded to an alter call to spend their lives ministering at the feet of Jesus. The Holy Spirit began radically changing how they viewed their life’s ministry calling. After a decade of pastoral ministry, the Spirit led them to move their family away from their church in British Columbia to Sylvan Lake, AB and birth Alabaster House of Worship. AHOW exists primarily to see Jesus loved and worshipped. They’re helping disciple a generation of Jesus lovers through hosting events centred around worship, prayer, evangelism and discipleship. Their goal is to see His Bride empowered by the Holy Spirit to joyfully obey the two Great Commandments: love God with all we are and love those around us.

At their Alabaster Worship Nights, people are powerfully encountering the love of God through intimate worship and biblical teaching. The focus is on Jesus and how the Church can love Him as a pure Bride. They have partnered with their local church to establish a daily House of Prayer. They lead Harp & Bowl (worship with the word) prayer sessions while mentoring others in how to sing and pray through the scriptures. Through the weekly Experiencing Jesus Bible Study they are teaching others how to read the Bible with an understanding of the historical/ cultural context partnered with listening to the Holy Spirit as He reveals the person of Jesus and brings the scriptures to life.

During a recent bible study, the group was discussing John 1:17 (the law being given through Moses vs. grace and truth coming through Jesus). It was beautiful to see the change come over a couple who were attending. They are fairly new believers and expressed that they had been viewing themselves compared to how they failed to live up to the standards of the law. Their countenance changed as we explained that the Father viewed them through the blood of Jesus. They began to understand that they could receive the righteousness of Jesus through faith and by His grace. This was a life changing revelation of the power of the blood of Jesus. They were able to start seeing themselves from the Father’s perspective of grace instead of the world’s perspective of judgement.

Alabaster House of Worship’s mission is centered on fostering love and worship for Jesus, equipping the Church to love God and neighbors wholeheartedly. They create intimate encounters with God through worship and the word in neutral venues, transcending religious boundaries, and offer Worship Discipleship schools. Their approach includes prophetic evangelism, prayer ministry, healing, discipleship, and teaching to nurture a generation that reciprocates the love of Jesus with their entire lives.

Prayer Request:

Last year, Jacquelyn had a seizure and the doctors discovered a cancerous brain tumour. This past April, she had brain surgery and the tumour was successfully removed. We spent seven weeks this summer going to the cancer centre every day to receive radiation treatment. It was a beautiful time of seeing God move through us as we were able to joyfully share the gospel, testify of God’s goodness and pray for & cry with other patients. She has just started a year of chemo treatment and we would love prayer for healing, full restoration, symptom-free treatments and for God to use this for His glory.
