1Mission Blog – Jan 18, 2022

1MISSION is a community development organization giving people in poverty the opportunity to earn a house by serving their community. We operate in Mexico, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. We hope to break the cycle of poverty by empowering people with the opportunities to learn new skills to earn their own secure house. Many of our participants are living in unsecure, substandard housing – always at risk, and especially at risk during these times. In this COVID-19 crisis, our 1MISSION staff in Mexico – like the rest of our team in the United States – are stuck [...]

Project Location: Nyajena Village, Masvingo, Zimbabwe Kids In Need Africa is a new Canadian, Christian Non-profit Organization established in July 2020, dedicated to improving the conditions and outcomes of orphans and vulnerable children living in poor rural communities in Africa. One Heart Blog – Dec 22, 2021

We believe every child deserves a safe place to live, the love of a family, and people who advocate for them with passion no matter what their diagnosis or life expectancy is. We believe love heals and transforms lives. Love is contagious and we believe that as others see us loving ‘the least of these’ Matthew 25:40 we will also impact the community. One Heart in Taiwan cares for and loves the most vulnerable children in this society. We care for vulnerable babies that other organizations are unable or unwilling to care for. Because of their [...]

Zeka Avelino and Anita Tjiwana Blog – Dec 15, 2021

Zeka and Anita’s Children and Youth Ministry: Rundu, Namibia. The covid-19 pandemic has made human contact very difficult. The usual school visits, for Bible studies and fellowship, have been interrupted. Even pre-school in-person learning has been suspended due to increased risk of infection. This has made conducting ministry very difficult, but despite the challenges and uncertainty the pandemic has brought, we have persevered. Laura is one of the vulnerable girls our ministry supports. She is 13 years old and in 8th grade but sadly she has never met her biological father because he refused [...]

Education For Life Society Canada – EOY 2021

Making an Impact Providing for Today and Tomorrow Overview After a tumultuous year, Education for Life is beginning to settle back into a routine, but the needs are still there and pressing as we catch up on missed instruction, with three academic years being compressed into two. Add to that the introduction of the new Competency Based Curriculum we have to provide more resources with the same income. Covid-19 has impacted employment, increasing poverty in our area. Urgent Needs The families of the children who attend the school are some of the poorest. Sponsorship [...]

Torchbearers Japan – EOY 2021

Update Torchbearers Yamanakako (Capernwray Japan), a Christian Camp and Conference Centre nestled at the foot of Mount Fuji, is at risk of permanent shutdown due to COVID19 cancellations. The delightful cuisine, magnificent vistas of Mount Fuji, and most importantly the spiritual ministry of this Centre have made it a popular destination for church retreats, summer camps, mission groups, and youth ministries. Torchbearers Japan has been serving Churches and Christians from around the Tokyo area and around the world for over 35 years. Zeka Avelino and Anita Tjiwana – EOY 2021

We started Twinkle Stars Preschool and Academy to provide holistic quality education that addresses four main areas (Intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual) to impoverished children. Twinkle Stars is situated at the outskirts of Rundu in an informal settlement called Tuhingireni Cuma where residents have no access to running water, electricity, to mention just a few. Rundu is the second highly populated town in Namibia and with the highest number of poverty-stricken families. Many precious children are left vulnerable and hopeless as their families are unable to provide adequate and nutritious food, education, or health care. [...]

One Heart – EOY 2021

Overview We urgently need your help. This summer the pandemic hit Taiwan hard. Many adults were out of work and their children were out of school. The abuse rate skyrocketed and there was no place safe for many of these children. We turned away many vulnerable children as we currently have a care home setting which limits the numbers of children we are allowed to help. As soon as we have more monthly sponsors and the finances to renovate a larger building we will open a larger home (in Taiwan this type of home is called [...]
